Is Toe Polish Doing More Harm Than Good?

When you think of summer, you think of the beach, warm weather, and pedicures. Personally, I would rather lock myself in my house than head out into the world with polish-less toes in my sandals.
But, could long lasting toe polish in the summer be doing more harm than good? Unfortunately, it just might be. FML

My pedicures can always survive a nuclear war. Like they never ever chip, so the thought of taking off a perfectly fabulous looking pedicure, to me, is stoooopid. Not after I heard what the polish could be doing to my toenails.
The polish dyes can soak into the nail plate causing them to become discolored and dry out the nail. When the nail dries out, it can allow yeast, bacteria, and mold to make a nice home in the nail plate. I know. Disgusting.
As sad as you’ll be, try going 3 weeks on with polish, 1 week off. Don’t worry, you’ll live. Letting your toes see the light of day and breathe are a great way to keep them healthy.
If your nails are stained, let them grow out. They grow about a millimeter each month. Remember, patience is a virtue

Agh, this is so frustrating! I hate feet and toes, so I always have mine painted in an effort to make them less hideous! Hahah! One of my nails is damaged already so I want to hide it as much as I can… I should really follow this advice though. Thanks for sharing! X
