Hood by Air F/W 2016 Runway Nails

Hood by Air founder Shayne Oliver doesn’t follow suit when it comes to NYFW nails. Last season he had the models’ nails wrapped in bandaids to play up the surgical theme for the show. For the F/W 2016 runway, Oliver wanted a nail that looked like it was “caked with dirt and grime.”

We’re doing a nasty nail. There’s no other way to describe it. It’s for the person draped in HBA [Hood By Air], who is all about fashion, fishing, and gardening, but doesn’t really give a f*** what anybody else thinks. –Manicurist Dawn Sterling

Sterling created the “nasty nail” by painting on Chanel’s ‘Black Satin’ then wiping it off to make the nails look like they were dipped in dirty water. (??????????)

Definitely don’t think I’m going to be testing out this look.
